The first lecture of the "2022 CBEAD International Lecture Series" was successfully live streamed in the morning of April 20th. Thousands of audience from 31 companies in 20 municipalities and provinces joined the event.
Qiu Baolin, the Secretary of the CPC committee and Executive Vice President of CBEAD, delivered a speech on the opening ceremony. On behalf of the Academy, Qiu Baolin extended welcome to the participants of the lecture. He pointed out that as the central committee for deepening overall reform passed the Guidlines on Accelerating Developing World-Class Companies this March, Chinese enterprises have entered into a new development stage. In this period of time, Chinese entrepreneurs should more develop global insight, global vision and global mindset, and analyze international landscape, game rules and future trajectory from both macro and micro perspectives. With more broadened, open and deepened horizon, the entrepreneurs are expected to look into the future and the "high-hanging fruit", and to listen to and exchange ideas with the world in an inclusive manner.
Secretary Qiu underscored the impact of "CBEAD International Lecture Series", calling the event an innovative practice of the Academy to develop "top-notch standards, global vision, and inclusive Chinese approaches". He said that meanwhile, the event is a new exploration for the cadre education and training system, as the first livestreamed lecture series for building world-class Chinese enterprises and a long-term learning platform for Chinese entrepreneurs to communicate with best-of-class companies and experts. In addition, participants are supposed to leverage the lectures to gain better understanding of Chinese characteristics from comparing international communities and learn from the best practices with a more open attitude.
The first lecture "Inspirations of German Hidden Champions" given by Dr. Johannes Habel, Associate Professor at ESMT Berlin, Germany, and Associate Professor at the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business, was about German hidden champion companies and the 8 elements for success of those companies. Yuan Li, former Party Secretary and President of China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation, hosted the lecture. Leaders of the Academy, including Zhang Zhiguang, Wang Dagang, and He Jianfei, joined the event in the Immersive Classroom of the Academy.
The second lecture,"When China Rules the World", given by Martin Jacques, renowned British scholar and former Senior Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies, Cambridge University, was livestreamed in the afternoon of April 27th.
