California State University, Long Beach, and University of Giessen Visit CBEAD

DALIAN – Vice President Tan Yue met with Chen Haihong, Director of International Exchange and Education of California State University, Long Beach, and Mr. Zhou Qingsong of International Exchange and Education Center of University of Giessen on May 12.

 

During the meeting, VP Tan warmly welcomed Ms. Chen and Mr. Zhou, and gave a brief introduction of CBEAD’s history, training, and international programs.

 

Ms. Chen expressed gratitude for CBEAD’s warm reception, and gave an introduction of California State University, Long Beach, and its collaboration with Chinese government institutions. Within California State University system, Long beach is best known for its faculty resources, and has a very well-known business school in the United States.

 

Mr. Zhou mainly introduced Giessen University’s advantages of training and resources. The International Exchange Education Center of Giessen was approved in 1999 by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, P.R.C., and became an authorized overseas training institution. The university also maintains good relationship with numbers of well-known enterprises, such as Siemens, BMW, and Volkswagen.

 

VP Tan suggested CBEAD and these two universities to further explore possible collaborations in the areas of course development and exchange of faculty resources. These two universities hope to keep in contact and gradually build relationship with CBEAD.

 

This meeting encourages further exploration and identification of international resources for CBEAD to utilize, as well as promote collaborations and exchanges with the United States and Germany.

Founded in 1949, California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is a public university which is located in the city of Long Beach in Los Angeles County of California. CSULB was ranked as annually "America's Best Colleges Guide" for two consecutive years in the “U.S. News and World Report.” The Business School of CSULB received the 2001 California Prospector Award, and has been recognized as one of 301 "America's Best Value Colleges" by the Princeton Review in 2010.

 

Founded in 1607 by Louis V, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt in Giessen of Hesse State, University of Giessen is one of the oldest universities in Germany. It is a public university, officially called the Justus Liebig University Giessen. Giessen University is a comprehensive university, which offers more than 150 courses. The most popular courses are business administration, nutritional sciences, teaching and educations, and medicine.
